More information about NYC Citywide Open Studios:
Every weekend this October, hundreds of artists in a different borough each weekend will open their studios to the public, from 11am to 6pm, Saturdays and Sundays.
Event ScheduleOctober 2005 11AM - 6PM Saturdays + Sundays. One Borough each weekend:
Manhattan Oct. 1-2Queens Oct. 8-9The Bronx Oct. 15-16Brooklyn Oct. 22-23Staten Island Oct. 29-30
Who Can ParticipateOpen to all artists with studios in any of the 5 boroughs (you may choose to use your home if you do not have a separate studio).
As a participating artist you will open your studio to the public Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 6pm, during the one weekend your borough is scheduled. Example:
If your studio address (or home address) is in Queens you will open your studio October 8th and 9th from 11am to 6pm. The other weekends we hope you will enjoy visiting artists' studios in the other boroughs and consider volunteering.
Register now and receive all of these exciting benefits:
• 1 image of your artwork on the Collector's DVD. The DVD showcases artwork by hundreds of NYC artists. Collectors, curators, art dealers, critics and other art enthusiasts will be exposed to your artwork long after the event is over. Your contact information is included so that you can be reached by interested persons. You receive a copy of the DVD for your portfolio. • Up to 5 images of your artwork to be included on the official website. The event website will allow visitors to search by many variables (medium, location, style, etc.) and print studio tour maps. The site will encourage visitors to buy artwork from NYC artists and visit studios by appointment year-round. Your information on www.nycopenstudios.org will continue to be available until the 2006 event (and beyond if you participate again). • Inclusion in the printed official event map which will be distributed throughout the city. • Promotional materials including post card invitations, posters, signs, and maps. • Benefit from press coverage of the event.
Deadlines
August 15: Register by August 15 to receive all benefits
October: You can register to participate right until the event opens in your borough, but you will NOT be included on the DVD or printed map.
